O wydarzeniu
Gombrowicz's play, in which comedy intertwines with tragedy. This is a story about a fictional royal family whose well-being and megalomania are destroyed by the appearance of a girl named Iwona. Terrified and fearful in herself, the mysterious heroine leads to the deconstruction and ruin of the bloated and hypocritical structure of the manor. The court as a family that, revealing its shameful secrets and secrets, almost leads itself to a catastrophe and collapse.
In his first drama, written before the war, Gombrowicz gives a record of mechanisms and social conventions, and above all, tries to present the situation of a man entangled in relations with others. It shows how our complexes can evolve when they meet the absolute.
